Privacy notice

Data privacy and confidentiality is a priority of this Psychology Service.

This privacy notice explains why and how data is collected and stored, in line with the Data Protection Act 2018.
  • Some details will be collected to facilitate assessment and formulation and to guide any treatment plan. Notes will be kept for 8 years after any service use, in line with British Psychological Society recommendations.
  • Confidentiality will be prioritised at all times. Any notes written about you will be kept confidential and will not be disclosed to third parties without your consent. The only exceptions to maintaining confidentiality would be where a therapist is obliged professionally and legally in order to keep yourself or someone else safe from significant harm.
  • If information sharing is deemed clinically useful eg talking to a school or a doctor, this will be discussed with you and will not take place without your consent
  • Written notes will be stored in a locked filing cabinet and any digital data will be stored on a secure cloud server. Any confidential data sent digitally will be done via a secure email service.
  • This policy will be subject to updates when needed in accordance with the most recent guidelines.
  • You have the right to see any information that is held about you. If you wish to do so please discuss this with Chloe.
It is assumed that by engaging with this Clinical Psychology Service you are consenting to your records being kept in this way and to the terms and conditions.
